This rendering of a conversation between a parent and child may be heard in homes where a child is learning his/her numbers. The number names are fairly easily memorized. However, when asked to connect the names to the correct numerical figure, a child may be found lost. So many books, flashcards, and activity books have been published, bombarding little learners with numbers zero to ten. Yet how many circulated works truly serve to anchor the connection between the number name and its pictorial symbol? It is true that with the passage of time, children do identify.
